A write-up in the Long Island Business News "Close Up", an informative history of Val Anthony's career through the years including comments about Val Anthony by Frank Sinatra, a long time friend of Val's from the early days when Val entertained for the Stars in New York City at the famed "Jilly's" night club, a hang out and "home base" for the "Rat Pack" and many of the most famous and legendary entertainers and movie stars.
The Long Island Leisure Guide for 1993-1994 is an annual supplement of the Long Island Business News, a publication of the legendary Long Island Commercial Review, with Terry Townsend and Paul Townsend as Publisher and Editor - Long Island legends in the business community themselves, and long time friends of Val Anthony. Here "A message from the publisher" describes the "Every So Often Something Special" thing that happens where Terry Townsend shares the news of the gifted Long Islander Val Anthony composing the Long Island Song, and where both Nassau and Suffolk counties officially adopted it "for their own". The lyrics to the Long Island Song are displayed while by the Publisher describes how they capture the spirit of the many pleasures Long Island has to offer.

Next is a photo dated May 8th, 1961 of Val and Terry Anthony with Bing Crosby's three sons at an affair where they performed. Val had many friends and admirers who were legendary Entertainers and Stars of the day.
Next is a photo of Val leaning on the Baby Grand at the Garden City Hotel where he was Director Of Music for many years.
Following, a photo of the Val Anthony Trio also taken at the Garden City Hotel his longtime Bassist and Cellist Bill Smith who was with Val from the start through 50 Years of close friendship and working together. Each instinctively knowing how the other would improvise moment by moment, note by note while playing a song together, Bill was an amazing, gifted musician. Also in the photo was the well known legendary Joe Monk, an accomplished jazz guitarist and instructor who added a facet of intimacy to this trio that only such a gifted jazz guitarist as Joe was, can add to a such a trio.
